SLAC’s Amedeo Perazzo discusses data management at the Linac Coherent Light Source X-ray laser.

my name is a mediocre Otto and I'm

responsible for the control and data

system forum sels we had three main

challenges that we had to face when

building v system one was the ability to

acquire multi gigabyte per second data

strains from each sls instrument this is

a key feature in sls because every event

can be an interesting event with science

content that needs to be extracted from

the second challenge was to provide the

ability to the users to analyze the data

on the fly as we are acquiring this data

and finally we had to provide a data

management system that can store and

manage multi petabyte of data in a

seamless fashion for the sls users
