Nathan covers fundamental physics and bioscience for SLAC, which he joined in 2020 after three years at the Stanford News Service. Before that, he spent two and a half years at Pacific Standard covering social science, climate change and a host of other topics every weekday. He holds degrees in physics from the University of Washington and MIT and a PhD in political science from Stanford. When he’s not writing or editing for SLAC, he’s probably playing steel or bottleneck guitar or reading weird poetry.
